"I created Artistology to bring together the people most important to me–Artists–in a way that’s valuable, all our own , and (most importantly) focused on well-being. There’s no question it’s a different approach, and a new one, whose time has certainly come."

Artistology is a word that I created which means the 'study of the artist,' something I have done my entire life. I come from a family full of artists. My mother is an artist. My siblings are all artists. My nieces and nephews are artists. I was married to a brilliant artist who comes from a family full of artists, and our children are all gifted artists.  I have also managed, consulted, and advocated for music and performing artists for over 3 decades.

That makes one thing clear-I know a little something about artists! Which is what inspired me to create Artistology. Being an artist comes with highs and lows. I’ve witnessed and experienced first-hand the joy, the pain and the power of being an artist. Understanding this spectrum of the artist’s experience led to the creation of The Artistology Method™, a process and practice of transmuting the pain that results from being reactive into the joy of being creative, which is the artist’s natural vibe as a creative being.

-Tammy Michelle (McCrary)

Tammy Michelle (McCrary), Founder and CEO of Artistology, is an entertainment consultant and entrepreneur. She has lived and breathed innovation and entertainment for more than three decades. From her time as a hands-on artist manager and her role as a brand strategist to her success as a senior-level entertainment business executive and nonprofit sector leader, Tammy has excelled at reimagining what it means to be a music industry pioneer.

A passionate proponent of collaboration, Tammy is a co-founder of the Transcendence Project, a co-creator of the Innergy Tuner app, the co-author of the #1 best selling books The Transformational Power of Sound and Music: A Handbook for the Sound Healer and Musician and Succeeding Through Doubt, Fear and Crisis.

Tammy’s visionary career began as a student at the University of California, Berkeley, where she worked as an artist relations coordinator with SUPERB Productions, the organization that oversaw the university’s concerts. Eventually, that early experience with event production led to decades of professional work in artist management, as she successfully guided acts ranging from a pop girl group and an award-winning jazz singer and pianist to a legendary diva.

As a producer, Tammy’s credentials are as varied as they are impressive. She executive produced the legendary Chaka Khan’s Funk This, an album that garnered critical acclaim and two GRAMMY® Awards, and she served as a producer of the 2013 Soul Train Music Awards. Tammy also co-produced and was featured in Diagnosis, a documentary about autism that won the Emerging Filmmaker Award at the Cannes Film Festival’s American Pavilion showcase.

Driven by a desire to help those who are challenged like her son, Tallon, who has autism, Tammy co-founded two nonprofit organizations: The Chaka Khan Foundation and Colored My Mind. During her tenure as the chairman of the Chaka Khan Foundation, the organization raised $1.4 million in aid of autism awareness and research, while Colored My Mind was able to band together in 2011 with the National Black Caucus of State Legislators and National Hispanic Caucus of State Legislators to reauthorize the Combating Autism Act of 2006. As a result of those joint lobbying efforts, the U.S. federal government committed to providing in excess of $3 billion for autism research and other services.

Following these diverse accomplishments, Tammy founded Artistology, a private community offering wellness resources for performing artists. "Artists are the cultural architects of society. There is a direct correlation between the messages that are delivered through music, film, television and gaming and the society that is manifested. I believe that when artists thrive – mentally, emotionally, spiritually, physically and financially – they can have a significant and positive impact on society. Artistology was created to support the well-being of artists. When the artist thrives, humanity survives!" says Tammy. Her mission is to provide a safe and trusted community offering wellness resources just for artists where they can connect and collaborate with other artists who get them and with resources that empower them.
